How common is cancer-related fatigue?

Fatigue is one of the most common cancer treatment side effects. But some cancer patients are more likely to experience fatigue than others, says Carmen Escalante, M.D., director of the Cancer-Related Fatigue Clinic at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This includes patients who have undergone multiple forms of cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy surgery and/or stem cell transplants or bone marrow transplants. The good news is that it is possible to treat cancer-related fatigue. MD Anderson patients who are struggling with fatigue can get help through our Cancer-Related Fatigue Clinic.
