Radiation-induced sarcoma

ESMO touches different problems in oncology, including complications of treatment. R. Haas discusses which cancer types are in particular prone for development of secondary sarcoma after radiotherapy for primary tumour. He describes the histology types and clinical features of radiation-associated sarcoma, reducing the risk in the paediatric population with the use of proton beam radiotherapy instead of LINAC, and what could be eventually useful in treating sarcoma with angiogenic features.
