Personalized treatment for ovarian cancer

Previously, all new ovarian cancer patients would undergo surgery to explore the extent of the disease and remove as much of it as possible. Under this new protocol, all patients undergo this procedure to determine if chemotherapy may shrink the tumor before surgery. Anil Sood, M.D., professor of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at MD Anderson, explains.
