Michelle lost her battle with lung cancer in October 2014, following a two year battle. She supported Stand Up To Cancer throughout 2014 and hoped to inspire other people to raise money and be involved. In June 2014, she shared her story with Stand Up To Cancer.
Michelle was diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2012. She had no symptoms except for a few chest pains and pain in her arm. After a chest x-ray it appeared Michelle had a shadow on her right and left lung. She was sent for a bronchostomy, a PET scan and a CAT scan and within two weeks she was told they had found a tumour on the right lung and that it had spread to the chest. She told us why Stand Up To Cancer is so important.
