Macmillan Cancer Support – Dave’s Story

David is in his 70s and lives with his wife Pat in Swansea, Wales. Following his treatment for throat cancer, David had severe side effects which left him immobilised and unable to eat. This was devastating for David as he was a very active and independent man before the cancer and the fact that he needed help to do things like eat, walk and go to the toilet hurt his pride massively. Cathy, his Macmillan Physiotherapist was there for him, and her support meant that he was able to walk and eat again and gain back some of his independence.
