How to Spot Signs of Skin Cancer

Learn how to identify the most common signs of skin cancer.

Early detection is the most critical factor in diagnosing and treating skin cancer before it spreads.
While there are different types of skin cancer, they share many common factors that patients can look for themselves.
Skin cancer can usually be spotted early by monitoring existing moles on your body.
Five factors, often called the ABCDE’s of skin cancer, denote the most commonly seen changes that occur in moles prior to the development of skin cancer.
They are:
Asymmetry,
Border,
Color,
Diameter,
(and) Evolution.
If you notice any of these changes, or the appearance of new growths, see a dermatologist immediately.
