ASH 2014 Coverage: Immunotherapy Advances for Hodgkin Lymphoma and ALL

During the 2014 American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting, Dr. Catherine Bollard from Children’s National Health System joined Patient Power to share encouraging news for the treatment of the relapsed/refractory lymphoma and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Dr. Bollard discusses how experts are harnessing the body’s immune system to treat these blood cancers, explaining checkpoint inhibitors in relation to the PD-1 pathway. She also speaks about the evolution of treatment, including the goal of reducing the use of chemotherapy and sparing the patients the extent of treatment that they currently receive.
